The Working Directory
The working directory is the folder in which a MineSched scenario is created, and in which the MineSched results folder for the scenario is saved. When you open an existing scenario, the folder in which the MineSched scenario was created becomes the working directory. The working directory and scenario file name are displayed in the title bar of the MineSched window.
The working directory is the default location in which all external scheduling results are saved. The working directory is the default export location for CSV reports, Microsoft Project Gantt Charts, graphical string and DTM files, and database outputs.
When you generate the results files, you have the option to save them to any location and folder structure you choose. It is recommended that you save all of the results files for each scenario in a folder unique to that scenario. When you save to a folder that is unique to a scenario, it is easier to capture all of the data that relates to that scenario. If you work from a central network, saving the results to a unique folder ensures consistency in the data. Also, it is important to save all data to a known location of you want to use the data in another application.
The following image shows a suggested folder structure:
Note: In this example, all of the suggested folder names use the convention output_<result type> except the results_Scenario_FleetOption folder. This results folder is automatically generated when you create a scenario and is used to store files that are used by MineSched during the scheduling process.
Caution: It is recommended that you do not use this MineSched-generated results folder to store any of your user-generated results files. If you choose to store results files in the MineSched-generated results_<scenario name> folder, you must create your own folders within the results_<scenario name> folder. If you do not create your own folders, your existing data is deleted each time you run a new schedule.
